About Hugin Alerts

The notification inbox for busy builders.

Last updated:

Silence by default. Signal when it matters.

Most notification systems are built for engagement. They're designed to get your attention as often as possible, training you to check compulsively.

Hugin is different. It's built for signal, not noise. It's for the alerts that genuinely need your attention—production crashes, deployment completions, critical errors. The things you'd want to wake up for at 3am.

We believe your attention is valuable. Every notification should earn its way to your lock screen.

Why Hugin?

The Problem

Developers and operators are constantly context-switching between the terminal, the browser, Slack, and code. When something breaks in production, it can go unnoticed for minutes or hours.

Email is too slow. Slack gets buried. Existing monitoring tools require complex integrations, expensive plans, or force you to adopt their entire ecosystem.

The Solution

One HTTP POST request. That's it. No SDK, no agent, no complex setup. Send an event from anywhere—your CI/CD pipeline, a cron job, a monitoring script, your backend—and your phone buzzes within seconds.

Hugin Alerts is the missing piece between "something happened" and "you know about it." It's infrastructure monitoring for humans.

The Name

In Norse mythology, Hugin (Old Norse: Huginn, meaning "thought") is one of Odin's two ravens. Hugin and Munin fly around the world each day, bringing news and information back to Odin.

Our Hugin does the same for you—flying through your infrastructure, bringing you the signals that matter, when they matter.

Our Principles

1. Simplicity over features

One endpoint. Five fields. No complex configuration. If you can make an HTTP request, you can use Hugin.

2. Privacy by design

Your data is yours. We're hosted in the EU, fully GDPR compliant, and we never sell your information. You can delete everything at any time.

3. Built for solo builders

Not every project needs enterprise monitoring. Sometimes you just need to know when your cron job ran or when your deploy finished. Hugin is for you.

4. Free to start, fair to scale

The core functionality will always have a generous free tier. When we introduce paid plans, they'll be priced fairly for the value they provide.

5. Reliability matters

If you're using Hugin for production monitoring, we take that seriously. We aim for high uptime, fast delivery, and clear communication when things go wrong.

Current Status

Hugin Alerts is currently in early access. The core functionality works and is being used in production — but we're still refining the experience, adding features, and gathering feedback.

Everything is free during early access. We're focused on building something genuinely useful before we think about monetization.

If you have feedback, questions, or just want to say hi, email us at hello@huginalerts.com. We read every message.
